George is On a Mission… Can You Help?
by Colne Life magazine
A youngster from Colne is hoping to donate hundreds of eggs to children in hospital over Easter. Last year, George Greenwood donated over 400 eggs, along with arts and crafts, teddies and all sorts of easter treats!
“George suffers from respiratory problems along with other medical illnesses and difficulties,” Sammy Greenwood, George’s mum, explains. “He spends time in and out of the children’s ward at Blackburn Hospital.”
George was worried about the other children being left out and not getting a visit from the Easter Bunny if they were in hospital at Easter.
“He asked if he could sell some of his own toys to get money to spend on easter eggs, so we decided to fundraise, and over the past few years, we’ve been able to donate hundreds of eggs to children who have to spend easter poorly in hospital.”
