Empowering Domestic Abuse Survivors
by Colne Life magazine
Positive Action in the Community (PAC) has secured National Lottery funding for its ‘Be Free’ project, aimed at empowering domestic abuse survivors in Pendle and Rossendale. Over the next four years, the project will support around 600 individuals, helping them regain control and move toward a safer, more confident future. PAC’s approach addresses various groups affected by domestic abuse. The project’s core goals are empowerment, stronger support networks, and improved mental health outcomes, offering survivors the tools to make lasting positive choices. Claire Bennett, PAC’s CEO said, “‘Be Free’ initiative will allow individuals to rebuild their lives in a safe, supportive community. Through this project, PAC continues its mission to address homelessness, poor mental health, and domestic abuse, creating lasting change locally.
