The Spinning Mill is under new management
Located on Burnley Road in Colne, The Spinning Mill is a cherished community pub that’s now under new management. But don’t worry – it’s still a familiar face behind the bar!
Kayleigh Fitton, 32, the new owner, first joined The Spinning Mill in 2015. With experience at several pubs in Colne, including The Crown Hotel, The Union, and the Bees Knees, she eventually returned to The Spinning Mill, taking on the role of manager on February 25th. “I’ve always wanted my own pub,” she says with a smile. Now, she’s turning that dream into reality with plans to renovate the beer garden, reopen the beloved kitchen, and reintroduce her famous loaded fries. The pub is a true family affair, with her husband Joe helping to run the business while they raise their four children in the home above.

The Spinning Mill’s menu changes with the seasons, featuring locally sourced ingredients and wallet-friendly prices. Whether you’re after classic pub grub or something special, there’s something for everyone. Grab dinner for under a fiver, with sandwiches served with crisps and salad for just £4.95.
For heartier meals, enjoy traditional fish and chips, homemade pies, and – coming soon – a Sunday carvery. Pensioners can also take advantage of a fantastic two-course deal for just £11.95, featuring classics like sausage and mash, followed by indulgent desserts like chocolate fudge cake, apple pie, or rice pudding.

“The food has always been really popular, and I cook it all myself. I can’t wait to get the kitchen back open!” Kayleigh shares enthusiastically.
Sundays at The Spinning Mill are all about fun! Every week from 2-6 pm, enjoy discounts on popular drinks. Plus, one lucky customer gets to open the manager’s mystery box, which could contain anything from toilet roll to a cash prize! Fancy £100 to spend at the bar? Mondays don’t have to be a drag either – there’s 50p off selected pints to help ease into the week.
“We’re a pub for everyone,” says Kayleigh. The Spinning Mill welcomes families, offering a dedicated children’s menu, and even your four- legged friends are invited!
Live entertainment is a big draw, with Paul Greenwood performing on Sunday, March 16, and Feryl, Beryl & The Wild Cats rocking the stage on Friday, March 28. Sports fans can catch all the action on-screen, while poker and snooker enthusiasts can join weekly tournaments. And if quizzes are your thing, come down on Sundays at 2.30 to test your knowledge in their Big Pub Quiz!
