Footloose and Pain-Free: Rosy’s Reflexology
by TRICIA ANNE MARES
How Rosy’s Reflexology Treatments are bringing Wellness to Colne
We met up with Rosy, a clinical reflexologist who is putting Colne residents back on their feet. Based within Pendle Chiropody Clinic, 50 Albert Road, Colne. Rosy is a knowledgeable and experienced reflexologist who approaches her work with a down-to-earth attitude.
Before training as a reflexologist, she worked as a carer, saying, “I’ve always loved helping people feel better.” Rosy explains how her discovery of reflexology began after a successful course of treatment, “I realised just how powerful reflexology was—so I decided to learn how this treatment could help others.”
After gaining her Level 5 Diploma in 2016 from the prestigious Reflexology Academy in London— having trained under the renowned practitioner Hagar Basis—Rosy moved up from St Albans to Colne, and soon after settling in, she opened her reflexology clinic in the heart of the town.
“My clients often say how relaxed they feel at the end of a treatment.”
“The principle behind Reflexology is that the body is mirrored in the hands and feet. With specialised finger and thumb techniques, the body is encouraged back to its natural balance. Each pressure point corresponds to a specific organ, gland. My clients often say how relaxed they feel at the end of a treatment.
“The Fascial Reflexology Approach I specialise in can be an add on to a regular reflexology treatment, or I can give a regular reflexology treatment. Each treatment is bespoke to the client. The treatments start with a consultation where I assess the client’s needs, so I know exactly how to tailor the session.”
Reflexology treatments are good for relieving stress. The specialised finger and thumb techniques on the feet, encourage the body to return to its natural balance.
Treatment is suitable for anyone, with Rosy’s youngest client being just five, while her oldest is a sprightly 97. “Clients come to me to enhance their health and well being. I am a member of Professional Reflexology PRM and the Association of Reflexologists FMAR.”
Rosy keeps up to date with all the latest techniques by regularly refreshing her knowledge. She loves working with her clients here in Colne, saying, “People here are so warm and friendly—I couldn’t imagine working anywhere else.” In addition to her clinic, Rosy offers flexible home visits, covering local areas in Skipton, Gargrave, Barnoldswick, and Colne.
