Mum and daughter duo Jackie and Francesca are the culinary heart of the café. “Our business was home baking before we opened the café,” Francesca shares. “We established ourselves by selling at Colne and Clitheroe Market, and it feels wonderful to have now a space where our customers can come and enjoy our bakes fresh from the oven.”

Su explains, “It’s a nice trip out with the girls or the family—grab some lunch and do some shopping!” From handmade crafts to luxurious fragrances, the shop reflects the spirit of Trawden. “We like to offer things that are a bit quirky and special,” says Su. “You’ll find everything from Turkish ceramics to local handmade items.”

Both businesses play a significant role in the Trawden community, regularly hosting events that bring people together. The café provided afternoon tea for Princess Anne when she visited the village, and the VIP Christmas launch was a highlight, where guests enjoyed a festive atmosphere and shopped for seasonal goodies. “We’ve had a fantastic response to our Christmas events,” Su shares. “It’s a great way for people to start their gift shopping while enjoying some sweet treats and good company.”

Visitors can start their day with breakfast, enjoy a bit of shopping, and end with a relaxing cup of coffee or tea. We get a lot of cyclists, ramblers, and even the occasional MG Club,” Francesca smiles. “It’s a great place for people to stop, refuel, and explore Trawden. Most people who visit once always come back again and again. We see grandparents, parents, and children—all generations coming together. It’s wonderful to be a part of their lives.”
