Make someone's day and nominate them for the HAPPA Awards...

HAPPA (Horses and Ponies Protection Association) is excited to announce that nominations are now open for individuals demonstrating outstanding dedication to equine welfare. HAPPA invites supporters and the general public to recognise and commend those passionate about improving the lives of horses and ponies who have suffered from cruelty and neglect.

The winners will be celebrated at a special awards ceremony in November at HAPPA’s Shores Hey Farm in Burnley.

“It is essential to acknowledge those in the equine welfare industry who deserve recognition,” said Sarah Arthur, Chief Executive Officer. “Hard work and determination often go unnoticed. Let’s change that by nominating those worthy individuals. The nomination process is simple and will surely brighten someone’s day.”

Awards and Criteria:

The Admiral Memorial Trophy: Awarded annually to an individual who goes above and beyond for HAPPA, whether as a volunteer, member of the public, or service provider.

The Mona Huskie Trophy: Recognises those who go the extra mile by rehoming a rescue horse. This award is open to anyone who has provided a home to a rescued equine through any of HAPPA’s five rehoming schemes or from another charitable organisation.

The Ken Cranage Memorial Award: Open to any staff member or volunteer from any welfare organisation. Nominations can be received from the public, staff, or volunteers to honour someone who has significantly improved the lives of equines.

If you know someone who meets the criteria for these awards, please nominate them here by 1st October 2024.
